Ardex UK Ltd of Haverhill, Suffolk has agreed to renew its original two-year contract with Welch’s Stapleford depot by extending the deal for a further three years until December 2015
Ardex is a global company which, for more than 50 years, has been a world-leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of premium quality, specialist tiling products, flooring products and construction materials for the flooring, tiling and rendering industries. The Haverhill site is the UK’s main manufacturing and distribution centre which prides itself on delivering its varied range of products to its customer base within very tight timescales.
The decision to commit to Welch’s Transport for a further three years is based firmly on Welch’s ability to deliver a level of service better than any of Ardex’s previous providers; consistently achieving a KPI performance for Everything On Time and In Full (EOTIF) in excess of 99%. As part of the new deal, Welch’s has provided two, new Renault Premium tractor units, in Ardex livery, to run alongside the existing, dedicated Ardex vehicle and trailer fleet. Peaks in business will continue to be covered by Welch’s shared-user fleet and its membership of the Palletline network
Paul Goldspink, Ardex UK’s Operations Director commented on the contract renewal, saying:

Ardex exists in a very competitive marketplace where service to our customer base is paramount. Working closely with Welch’s helps to give Ardex the competitive edge it needs to stay ahead of the game.”
A performance like this does not come about simply by the hard work and attention to detail of all the staff at Welch’s Transport but also by the development of a strong relationship with the customer which resultsin open and positive communication between both parties leading to a mutually beneficial understanding of each other’s business.
